Our Guest House has eight rooms, four of them double (king size bed) and four singles (with two single beds). All of them are designed to offer the greatest comfort and quality. Our rooms have a private bathroom and are equipped with air conditioning, fans, mosquito nets, free Wi-Fi access and laundry service.
We also offer a complete homemade breakfast that you can enjoy from the rooftop with the best views of the break point that we have right in front of us.
In addition, Ohana Guest House has an outdoor pool surrounded by a tropical garden, perfect for recovering after long days of surfing.
Definitely, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the culture of Sri Lanka, with dreamy landscapes, exotic beaches, surfing in warm waters and with the love of the home of Ohana.
Our surf instructors and photographers are mainly from our home school, Calhau Surf School (in Madeira Island, Portugal, also known as the Atlantic Hawaii), and are reinforced with experienced local surf instructors from Sri Lanka.
They embrace the surfing lifestyle and are not only passionate surfers but also certified surf instructors and qualified Water Safety Specialists!

The engine of Ohana, Rodolfo, is originally from mainland Portugal. He spent his youth traveling the world as an architect and surfer before finding his “home” In Madeira in 1992 and now is second “home” here in Sri Lanka.

Paula, our manager, is like a mother to us all. Having worked in various companies in Madeira, as well as being a hotel and guesthouse mentor, she gained extensive experience in management. She likes to surf and although she had found the sport at the age of 39, she participated in and won some female surf competitions.

Augusto Is the regional champion in Madeira Island in bodyboard for several years in a row, expert in surfing, he spends most of his time in the water and lives right at the beach. Our “Duro” is like a fish in the water, you can expect to learn a lot from him.

Chamil is a local surfer and surf instructor who knows all the best spots. He is a big hearted person welcoming our guests with the biggest smile and always ready to help. Our Ohana Surf Guest House started because of Chamil and we are very grateful for him.

Marta, our surf champ, has been surfing since the age of 5. She has competed in several local young surf contests and won some of them. She is studying for a Financial Master and she is our youngest qualified surf instructor with extensive surf experience. She loves to travel, and meet new people and cultures. Her sensitivity shows how big her heart is, and you can always count on her for help!

Local surfer currently 30 years old, with a lot of experience in teaching surfing, he is a very patient surf teacher. He started surfing at the age of 18 with a lot of perseverance as there were few boards at that time. He developed his surfing skills alone an become a great surfer. his favourite manoeuvre is the Roundhouse Cutback. His a local from Mihiripenna Beach near Ahangama.
